Speaking at the plenary session, the General Director of “AzerGold Uzbekistan” Foreign Investment Limited Liability Company, a subsidiary of “AzerGold” CJSC in Uzbekistan, Ilyas Ismayilli, provided information on developing strategic partnerships in the mining industry and joint projects planned for implementation.

I. Ismayilli emphasized the significance of establishing “AzerGold” CJSC’s first subsidiary outside Azerbaijan precisely in Uzbekistan. He stated that the high-level relations of friendship and mutual trust between the heads of state – President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan – provide a strong impetus for the development of cooperation in all directions between the two countries, as well as for the implementation of large-scale joint projects.

During the speech, detailed information was also provided about the project planned to be implemented by the new company in Uzbekistan. It was noted that in the initial phase of the joint development project of the “Akba” gold deposit located in the Kitab district of the Kashkadarya region, additional geological exploration work, assessment of mineral resources in accordance with international standards, metallurgical tests, and environmental studies are planned. If the geological exploration results are positive, it is planned to establish a joint venture and commence the operation of the deposit.

In addition, geological research on gold and rare earth elements in the promising areas of “Toshmochit,” “Boshtut,” and “Boboshil” located in the Navoi region by “AzerGold” CJSC, as well as opportunities for joint geological exploration and development of other mineral deposits of mutual interest located in the territories of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, are being discussed.

It was noted that there are favorable opportunities for expanding cooperation with new joint projects in the future. The accumulated experience and developing partnership relations can lay the groundwork for joint activities in third countries in the future.

Within the framework of the forum, successful investment models for ensuring sustainable economic development in Central Asia, strengthening the region’s position as an industrial center, and resource security issues were widely discussed. In addition, an exchange of views took place on the formation of value-added production chains and opportunities for accessing new markets.
