The major reconstruction work in the depot of the “Hazi Aslanov” metro station will be completed tomorrow.
Baku Metro CJSC announced this.
It was reported that the reconstruction work is being carried out in three phases over an area of approximately 280 meters. Repair and restoration work has been completed in the previous phases, and the process of applying mortar and smoothing has been carried out along the side walls and floor. Reinforcement measures have also been taken on the floor, walls, and ceiling sections. The partition walls of the middle tracks have been completely rebuilt.
Within the framework of the final phase, insulation and mortar application work is being carried out on the ceiling, and special paint substances are being applied. The covering slab is being additionally strengthened with a modern construction material with carbon fiber. Along with the laying of drainage lines, the installation of communication lines has also begun. A bridge for train inspection and stopping is also being built.
In accordance with the project, depot tracks with a total length of nearly 1000 meters have been built on modern reinforced concrete foundations, and the turnouts are constructed from reinforced concrete monolithic blocks. 6 turnouts have been installed in the 4-track depot. The renewal of electricity supply, communication, signaling, video surveillance, fire safety, water, sewage, ventilation, and other important systems in the area is continuing according to the plan.
During the reconstruction work, regular inspections are carried out to increase the stability of the structures, eliminate the effects of aggressive groundwater, and adapt the depot infrastructure to modern technical requirements. Based on the results of the relevant inspections, final precautionary measures will be taken along the area during the rainy season.
The depot tracks are an important infrastructure that ensures the overnight stay of trains, their flexible management, movement at short intervals, inspection, and technical maintenance. Long-term operation and the complex hydrogeological conditions of the area had resulted in serious impacts of groundwater on the structural elements of the “Hazi Aslanov” station depot and erosion on the walls.
It should be noted that the increase in the stability of the depot and station of “Hazi Aslanov” station is being carried out based on the action plan for the implementation of the State Program for 2025-2030.
