SEPAH: Oil tanker catches fire in Strait of Hormuz

An oil tanker that violated the rules announced by Iran has caught fire in the southern corridor of the Strait of Hormuz.

elchi reports, citing IRIB, that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (SEPAH) Navy has released information about this.

“Today, before noon, monitoring groups of the Navy, which continuously monitor and track the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz, detected a rule-breaking oil tanker on fire in a prohibited zone,” the statement said.

It was noted that this rule-breaking oil tanker, despite previous warnings, turned off its tracking systems and attempted to pass through the prohibited zone in the southern corridor of the Strait of Hormuz:

“The responsibility for the consequences of uncoordinated actions falls on those who violate the rules, and this leads to the expansion of insecurity.”

We remind you that the Iranian side claims that oil tankers hit mines in the Strait of Hormuz, while the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) claims that the ships were hit by an unknown projectile.
