From 1995 to the first half of 2026, the volume of direct investments of the Czech Republic in Azerbaijan amounted to approximately $74 million.
elchi reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani representative Yusif Abdullayev in his speech at the Azerbaijan-Czech Business Forum.
He noted that approximately $70 million of this figure was directed to the non-oil-gas sector:
“During the same period, the volume of direct investments of Azerbaijan in the Czech Republic also amounted to approximately $70 million.
Currently, 34 Czech companies operate in Azerbaijan in various fields, including agriculture, industry, transport, construction, trade, and services.
Transport and logistics sectors also create good prospects for expanding cooperation. In 2025, the volume of transit transportation along the Alat-Astara route reached 32 thousand tons and increased by 47 percent. The East-West and North-South transport corridors play an important role in this process.”
Y. Abdullayev noted that cooperation with Czech companies is increasingly expanding towards transport, industry, and investment projects:
“As an example, cooperation with ‘Skoda Group’ on some projects, as well as cooperation with ‘AŽD Praha’ within the ‘Ardan Ultra’ project in the Arab region, can be shown.
This approach was also reflected in the II Azerbaijan International Investment Forum held in Baku in September under the auspices of Ali Asadov. More than 3000 participants from approximately 70 countries gathered at the forum. 23 documents covering various fields were signed, and documents worth a total of approximately $11 billion were exchanged.”
