The death toll from the devastating landslide in Nepal has reached 1,403.
“Elchi” reports, citing “Xinhua”, that the Nepal Disaster Risk Reduction Authority announced this on September 16.
According to its data, 6,150 people are considered missing. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
According to the authority’s latest report, 13,742 people have been rescued so far.
The natural disaster occurred on the morning of August 26 in northern Nepal, with a landslide causing the flood. A powerful flow of rock debris traveled more than 70 km along the riverbed at high speed, leading to the flooding of a vast area. In China, 43 people died and 519 are considered missing.
