US President Donald Trump has claimed that a “sick conspiracy” is being orchestrated regarding artificial intelligence technology spiraling out of control. In a statement on his social media account, Trump responded to calls to slow down the development of AI to prevent it from getting out of control.
elchi reports that “The only control mechanism or safety boundary that artificial intelligence needs is a strong and smart (high IQ) president,” said Trump, pointing to himself and adding: “And we have plenty of that in the US.”
The US President noted: “We have great punitive and regulatory power over these companies (AI developers). A sick conspiracy is being waged against artificial intelligence and data centers, and the only party happy about this is China.”
Emphasizing that the country leading the AI race will “win the race,” Trump stated that the US is ahead of China and all other competitors in this field and will maintain this advantage.
Stressing that they have prevented and will continue to prevent certain companies in the sector from engaging in “bad or potentially harmful activities” through artificial intelligence, Trump expressed that he considers the statements made by Dario Amodei, CEO of the company “Anthropic,” on this subject to be insincere.
The US President’s statement comes after Amodei’s call to slow down the pace of development in the sector.
