Starting tomorrow, 2,530 buses will be deployed on Baku’s route lines

The number of buses deployed on route lines in Baku will reach a record high of 2,530 starting September 15.

This was reported to “Elchi” by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA).

It was noted that this is the highest figure in recent years. For instance, in September 2022, 1,780 buses were in operation for passenger transport in Baku. This figure rose to 2,011 in 2023, 2,180 in 2024, and 2,340 in 2025. Thus, in just 5 years, the number of buses deployed on routes in the capital has increased by 750 units, or 42%.

According to the information, this year, for the first time, the operation of 2,530 buses on Baku routes simultaneously is being ensured. Compared to last year, this represents an increase of nearly 200 buses.

It was noted that the increase in the number of buses is particularly significant on the eve of the academic season, when passenger demand rises. In addition, within the framework of the metro line separation project, 8 express lines have been organized and 28 regular lines have been strengthened over the past month.

Work on renewing the bus fleet in terms of both quantity and quality will continue until the end of the year. This year, buses on 29 lines have been replaced with newer and more modern ones. The introduction of additional buses will expand opportunities to provide passengers with more comfortable, safe, and high-quality public transport services.

This year, 308 buses have been brought in by private and state enterprises.
