In January-June of this year, Azerbaijan imported 1,441 tons of pineapples (fresh or dried) worth 1.91 million US dollars.
According to calculations by “Elchi” based on data from the State Statistical Committee, this is 5.6% more in value and 1% more in quantity compared to the same period of 2025.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased pineapples from Costa Rica worth 1.22 million US dollars (11.5% less than a year ago) totaling 1,015.2 tons (-18.4%), from Panama worth 344.6 thousand US dollars (+12 times) totaling 294.3 tons (+13 times), from Thailand worth 244 thousand US dollars (-13.5%) totaling 63.7 tons (-7.2%), from China worth 90 thousand US dollars (+2.3%) totaling 65 tons (-4.4%), and from Iran worth 4.11 thousand US dollars (+5 times) totaling 0.43 tons (-22%).
Azerbaijan has resumed supplies from Vietnam (worth 0.2 thousand US dollars, totaling 0.02 tons) after a break of 8 years and 1 month.
In 2025, Costa Rica accounted for 81% of the 3,033 tons of pineapples imported into Azerbaijan.
