The Iranian authorities plan to participate in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman countries to be held in Oman on Monday.
“Elchi” reports that this was announced by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmaeil Baghaei.
“On Monday, a meeting of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman countries will take place in Oman with the participation of Iran, Iraq, and other coastal states. In addition to regional issues, the results of Iran-Oman negotiations on establishing safe routes for commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz will also be discussed,” the IRNA agency quotes him as saying.
Baghaei called the initiative to hold a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf countries an important event in this direction and expressed hope that this event would pave the way for strengthening mutual understanding among regional countries and contribute to strengthening common regional security.
