On September 9-11, 2026, a championship on orienteering was held among the structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the forest belt of Gabala district.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the press service of the MES.
It was noted that 30 employees representing 10 teams from the MES Apparatus and its structures tested their strength and engaged in a determined competition.
On the final day of the competition, winners in team and individual (men and women) categories were determined.
At the closing ceremony of the championship, the National Anthem was played first.
Congratulating the winning athletes, Colonel Fuzuli Musayev, head of the Sports and Health Club of the MES, spoke about the achievements of the Ministry’s employees in various sports at national and international tournaments and wished them success in future competitions.
In the team competition, the State Fire Protection Service team took 1st place, the Civil Defense Troops team took 2nd place, and the State Agency for Control over Safety in Construction team took 3rd place.
In addition, in the individual women’s competition, Sevda Verdiyeva, an employee of the State Agency for Control over Safety in Construction, won the gold medal.
In the individual men’s competition, Vugar Babayev, an employee of the State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue, took 1st place.
For their practical assistance in organizing the competition, Colonel Bahruz Abishov, commander of the N military unit of the Civil Defense Troops of the MES, employees of the Ministry’s Medical Service, and the judging committee of the Orienteering Sports Federation of the Republic of Azerbaijan were awarded certificates of honor.
The winners were presented with cups, diplomas, and medals.
