US President Donald Trump has stated that he does not expect the conflict with Iran to end before the midterm elections in November, nor does he expect oil prices to fall by that time.
“Elchi” reports that while speaking during a visit to Texas to attend his party’s first rally ahead of the congressional midterm elections, Trump emphasized that the resistance of the Tehran administration has reached its limit. He claimed that the conflict would end immediately after the elections and that oil prices would drop sharply.
Alleging that Iran is trying to influence US elections, Trump stated that Tehran’s goal is for a weak administration to come to power; such an administration could allow the country to obtain nuclear weapons.
On the other hand, the Tehran administration continues to deny allegations that it is trying to create nuclear weapons.
Touching on the possibility of negotiations with Iran, the US President noted that while a new meeting is possible, the issue is not currently on the agenda.
Trump, who had previously predicted that the conflict, now entering its seventh month, would last only a few weeks, has faced a significant decline in public support as the clashes have driven up gasoline and food prices.
