The “Contribution Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme for the implementation of the project ‘Towards smart, sustainable and inclusive settlements in the East Zangezur economic region of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Integrated territorial planning for sustainable urban development’” has been approved.
“Elchi” reports that President Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree in this regard.
Upon the entry into force of the Contribution Agreement, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan must ensure the implementation of its provisions, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan must notify the Secretariat of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme that the internal state procedures necessary for the entry into force of the Contribution Agreement have been completed.
It should be noted that the Contribution Agreement was signed in New York on July 15, 2026.
