“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Umayra Taghiyeva during her speech at a panel session held on the second day of the Fourth Climate Week (CW4) conference of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
She noted that Azerbaijan possesses an extensive meteorological observation system.
“Over the last 5 years, taking into account the investments for 2026, 82% of these systems have already been automated.
However, this is the main and first step towards creating an early warning system. There are a number of important goals to be achieved ahead. Because climate change is no longer a distant threat. It is a reality whose effects we are experiencing here and now,” she emphasized.
