From March of last year to February of this year, the damage caused to Cuba by the US trade, economic, and financial blockade has exceeded $8.83 billion.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla at a press conference.
According to him, the current figure is 7% higher than in the previous report. The total damage caused by the blockade over more than 60 years exceeds $178.7 billion in current prices, which is 4.7% more than the figure shown in the previous report.
The minister stated that the report will be submitted for discussion to the UN General Assembly.
The next vote on the resolution regarding the necessity of lifting the blockade imposed by the US on Cuba will be held in New York on October 27–28.
