Georgia and Kazakhstan discussed increasing cargo turnover in the Middle Corridor.
“Elchi” reports that Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tamar Ioseliani, met with Erlan Koishibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazakhstan Railways, and Aybek Kapar, acting CEO of “KTZ Express”.
The parties discussed the current state of cooperation between the railways of the two countries and opportunities for further deepening relations.
The officials noted the positive dynamics in increasing cargo turnover along the Middle Corridor and also discussed the progress of infrastructure projects being implemented and planned in Georgia, including the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project.
The meeting was also attended by Lasha Abashidze, Director General of Georgian Railways, Zurab Sichinava, Director of the Anaklia Sea Port, and Merab Kajaia, Deputy Head of the Transport and Logistics Development Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
