According to the report, solar flare activity on September 3 and 4 is generally at a low level, but M-class flares are possible.
As previously reported, a powerful flare was recorded on the Sun on Wednesday evening.
Based on the intensity of X-rays, solar flares are divided into five main classes: A, B, C, M, and X. The A0.0 class, considered the weakest, is characterized by a radiation power of 10 nanowatts per square meter in Earth’s orbit. With each transition to the next letter-designated class, this power increases tenfold. Such flares are often accompanied by mass ejections of solar plasma, which, if these plasma clouds reach Earth, can cause geomagnetic storms.
