ANAMA has rapidly expanded its capacity for mine detection dogs.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Elise Becker, Executive Director of the US-funded non-governmental organization “Marshall Legacy Institute,” during a panel session at the 4th International Mine Action Conference held in Baku on the topic “Humanitarian Mine Action for Urban Recovery: Setting Excellence Standards for Safe Settlements.”
She noted that they have been partnering with ANAMA for over 20 years and are proud of it.
According to Elise Becker, ANAMA has increased its operational experience in the following years.
“Over the last five years, with the support of private donors, we have donated more than 60 mine detection dogs to ANAMA. They are currently operating in the fields.”
She added that the national capacity created in the initial phase of the program has enabled the rapid expansion of capabilities for mine detection dogs.
