According to the operational processing data from the Altai-Sayan branch, the epicenter of the earthquake, which was recorded on Thursday at 14:40, was located 18 km northwest of the city of Jiangyou.
Based on the intensity of the tremors at the epicenter, the earthquake is classified as “very strong.”
The US Geological Survey estimated the magnitude of the seismic event at 5.4. According to American seismologists, the earthquake’s focus was at a depth of 10 km.
