Ukraine’s operations against Russian energy facilities are causing an increase in global energy prices.
“Elchi” reports that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated this in an interview with Fox News.
“We are currently experiencing an energy shock. One of the reasons for this is the war in Ukraine, because Ukraine has decided to strike Russia’s energy assets and refining facilities, which is creating price pressure on a global scale,” Bessent noted.
He stated that the conflict with Iran is also putting additional pressure on prices. Expressing confidence that prices will fall once the conflict ends, Bessent pointed out that, overall, the rate of their growth has already begun to decline.
