We express our gratitude to the relevant authorities of Azerbaijan regarding the rescue and provision of emergency medical care to a Dutch citizen who encountered an unfortunate incident in the mountainous area of Shaki on August 29.
This was reported to APA by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan.
“We are particularly grateful to the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the urgent rescue operation carried out in difficult mountainous terrain and dark weather conditions, for the prompt evacuation by helicopter, and for the initial medical aid provided at the scene. At the same time, we highly appreciate the medical care, professional approach, and prompt intervention provided by the Shaki District Central Hospital and the Yeni Klinika located in the capital,” the statement says.
The Embassy stated that the agile and coordinated actions of the relevant authorities during this incident made a significant contribution to ensuring the safety of the Dutch citizen.
It should be noted that the Dutch citizen, born in 1979, was attacked by dogs while hiking in the direction of the Chalangi summer pasture of Bash Zayzid village in Shaki on August 29 and sustained injuries of varying severity.
The Dutch citizen was evacuated by employees of the State Border Service. A medical team and a rescue group were sent to the area by helicopter. As a result of the operation carried out at an altitude of approximately 2000 meters, the injured tourist was given first aid, transported by helicopter to the Shaki District Central Hospital, and underwent surgery.
