On August 31, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
“Elchi” reports that the head of our state conveyed his congratulations on the successful holding of the first elections to the new parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Majilis, noting that this was another example of the Kazakh people’s support for the large-scale reforms carried out in the country under the leadership of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President of Kazakhstan expressed his gratitude for the congratulatory letter sent by the head of our state and for the active participation of observers from Azerbaijan in these elections.
During the meeting, it was noted that the strategic partnership and alliance relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are developing successfully, and the importance of high-level mutual visits and contacts in deepening our relations was emphasized. Transport and logistics issues were discussed, the importance of the Middle Corridor was touched upon, and an exchange of views took place regarding the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in this direction.
The heads of state also touched upon the fact that the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia will be held in Baku.
During the conversation, future contacts and other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
