The Nepalese authorities have requested drones from a number of countries for the search for flood victims, as well as DNA test kits for the identification of bodies.
“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal has released information regarding this.
“We have requested necessary non-food items and services from the US, such as freezer chambers, DNA test kits, and lidar devices,” the agency stated.
The country has also requested disaster victim identification services, mobile aid stations, and high-performance drones from Singapore and China. As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, similar assistance is expected to arrive from Japan and the Republic of Korea in the near future.
The ministry noted that “effective coordination is being carried out with immediate neighbors and the international community to assess, request, procure, and mobilize all necessary resources for ongoing search and rescue operations and the provision of aid.”
“We have already received significant assistance in rescue operations from India, China, Japan, the US, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Korea, and other countries and partners. This list includes mobile aid stations, freezer chambers, generator sets, solar lamps, DNA test kits, emergency equipment, as well as tents, blankets, sleeping bags, food kits, medicines, and other supplies,” the Foreign Ministry declared.
