On August 27, in the afternoon, we strongly condemn the placement of provocative images against our country by unknown persons in front of the guest house of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“It is not excluded that this unacceptable provocation, in addition to serving to artificially strain Azerbaijan-Russia relations, is part of the ugly and biased campaign carried out against Azerbaijan in a number of Russian media resources in recent times.
The Azerbaijani side calls on the relevant authorities of the Russian Federation to give a proper legal assessment to such provocative acts, to ensure a comprehensive investigation of the incident, and to take necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such cases.
We expect the Russian side to fully fulfill its obligations in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations to ensure the safety of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its staff at the appropriate level, as well as to prevent any provocative actions that may hinder the normal functioning of the diplomatic mission,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
