The list of prohibited fishing tools will be determined.
elchi reports that this is reflected in the Law “On Fisheries”, for which President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on its implementation.
According to the decree, the Ministry of Agriculture must:
within six months, determine the following normative legal acts and inform the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan:
– technical requirements related to fishing infrastructure, fishing tools, and fishing vessels used by fishing entities for the purpose of ensuring sustainable fishing of fish and other aquatic bioresources;
– the list of prohibited fishing tools;
– the exemplary form of the Biotechnological Project Document;
– breeding characteristics of brood fish and other aquatic bioresources, fish fry, and incubated roe imported into and exported from the country;
– the procedure for registration of fishing vessels and fishing tools used for fishing, as well as the list of technical control means installed on fishing vessels and requirements for them;
– the procedure for releasing new species and hybrid forms of fish and other aquatic bioresources into fishing water bodies for the purpose of protecting the gene pool of fish and other aquatic bioresources;
– the procedure and technical normative legal acts for fish farming, acclimatization of fish and other aquatic bioresources;
– the procedure for carrying out the reclamation of fishing water bodies.
