Iran and Oman have reached an agreement on the division of revenues from shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Hossein Mohebi, a representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite units of the Armed Forces).
“During these negotiations, agreements were reached regarding the share of both countries in the strait’s waters, as well as the share of Iran and Oman in the revenues,” the Tasnim agency quotes Mohebi as saying.
He also emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran and Oman. He added that this waterway will remain open provided that the US adheres to previously reached agreements.
