In January-June 2026, the number of overnight stays in hotels and hotel-type facilities in Azerbaijan decreased by 8.3 percent compared to the same period last year, amounting to 1 million 807.9 thousand.

The following places were occupied by Gusar (5.9 percent), Naftalan (5.5 percent), Gabala (3.4 percent), Guba (3.1 percent), Lankaran (3.0 percent), Khachmaz (2.1 percent), Ganja (1.9 percent), Shusha (1.8 percent), Shamakhi (1.5 percent), Nakhchivan AR (1.2 percent), Shabran (1.1 percent), and Masalli (1.1 percent). The share of other cities and regions accounted for 9.6 percent.
During the reporting period, the number of overnight stays by foreigners and stateless persons also decreased by 10.3 percent to 1 million 69.8 thousand. This figure accounts for 59.2 percent of total overnight stays.
Of the overnight stays by foreign tourists, 14.1 percent were from Turkey, 13.0 percent from Russia, 7.1 percent from India, 6.9 percent from Israel, 4.6 percent from Saudi Arabia, 4.6 percent from China, 4.1 percent from Kazakhstan, 3.9 percent from Uzbekistan, 3.8 percent from Pakistan, 2.4 percent from the UAE, 2.3 percent from the UK, 2.3 percent from the USA, 1.7 percent from Germany, 1.3 percent from Kuwait, 1.1 percent from Italy, 1.0 percent from Georgia, 0.8 percent from Iran, 0.7 percent from the Republic of Korea, 0.7 percent from Ukraine, and 23.6 percent from other countries.
81.9 percent of overnight stays by foreigners were recorded in Baku. The share of Gusar and Naftalan was 5.6 percent each, Gabala was 2.1 percent, and Guba was 1.0 percent. The total share of other cities and regions was 3.8 percent.
The number of overnight stays by Azerbaijani citizens in hotels was 738.1 thousand, which is equal to 40.8 percent of total overnight stays.
