The Albanian parliament has approved a $302 million loan from the US to finance military procurement.

The country’s Ministry of Defense stated that the loan will be directed toward financing acquisitions for Albania’s air, land, and naval forces, as well as cyber defense, command systems, and military infrastructure.
Albanian opposition politicians expressed their support for investments in the military sector but protested that they were given very little time to study the agreement.
According to them, some parts of the document were classified, and deputies had to sign special non-disclosure agreements to gain access to those sections.
