The Main State Traffic Police Department has issued a warning to road users in connection with the hot weather conditions.
Information about this was provided to “Elchi” by the department.
According to the information, the Main State Traffic Police Department calls on drivers to be more careful, to take into account their health and the technical condition of their vehicles, and to drive accordingly in connection with the hot weather expected in the country from July 25 to 29.
“High temperatures can cause a decrease in attention, rapid fatigue, prolonged reaction times, as well as sudden health problems in drivers, which increases the risk of road traffic accidents.
The Main State Traffic Police Department recommends that especially elderly drivers and those suffering from cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses avoid traveling during the hottest hours of the day unless necessary. For other drivers, it is recommended to check the technical soundness of the vehicle in advance, especially the cooling and braking systems, tires, and air conditioning; to take regular breaks during long trips; to stop driving if they feel weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, or other discomfort; to observe speed limits; to avoid risky maneuvers; not to leave young children unattended in the car; and to ventilate a vehicle that has been sitting in the sun before starting to drive.
The Main State Traffic Police Department once again calls on all drivers to take weather conditions into account, to plan their trips for relatively cooler hours of the day whenever possible, to strictly observe traffic rules, and to refrain from behaviors that would endanger their own lives and health, as well as those of other road users,” the statement noted.
