Italy has offered a consultant position to the former Ukrainian Defense Minister

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto has offered the dismissed former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov a position as his advisor.

elchi reports that the minister, speaking in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, said he contacted Fedorov the day after he was removed from his post.

“I called him the day after he was fired and said, ‘When do you want to come to Rome and work with me as an advisor?'” Crosetto stated.

According to the minister, Fedorov was touched by the offer and viewed it as an expression of respect and friendship shown to him.

Crosetto praised Mykhailo Fedorov as a key figure in the development of military innovations. According to him, by introducing new technologies and changing the rules on the battlefield, Fedorov contributed to Ukraine’s initial resistance against the Russian invasion and its subsequent ability to take the initiative.

35-year-old Mykhailo Fedorov is known by his supporters for expanding Ukraine’s drone capabilities and promoting reforms in the defense sector. He was dismissed from the post of defense minister this month. The decision sparked rare protests in Ukraine during the war.

Although Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered Fedorov alternative positions in the government, the former minister announced that he would not accept any state position other than that of Minister of Defense.
