The “AR5” reconnaissance drone, tested by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will be added to the British Army’s inventory.

elchi reports that the Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense has released information regarding this.

It is stated that the “AR5” will replace the outdated “Watchkeeper” drones, which have been used by the British Armed Forces since 2014. The delivery of the new drones to the military is set to begin by the end of the year. The initial contract provides for the delivery of 6 “AR5” units. In total, it is planned that up to 24 such units will be added to the British army by 2029.

The unmanned aerial vehicles will be manufactured at the Tekever company’s facility in Swindon, which will begin operations in the near future. The value of the contract is estimated at 400 million pounds sterling.
