Gold prices rise in global commodity markets

Trading in precious metals in global commodity markets has ended with mixed dynamics.

elchi reports that on the COMEX exchange, the price of 1 troy ounce of gold for August futures increased by 20.60 US dollars, or 0.51%, to 4,070.80 US dollars. Spot gold also became more expensive by 3.31 US dollars, or 0.08%, reaching 4,052.79 US dollars.

Silver has also risen in price. On COMEX, the price of silver for September futures increased by 0.85 US dollars, or 1.47%, reaching 58.91 US dollars.

Among industrial metals, the price of copper rose by 1.40 cents, or 0.22%, to 635.75 cents.

At the same time, platinum has become cheaper. The price of spot platinum decreased by 5.20 US dollars, or 0.33%, falling to 1,592 US dollars.

According to analysts, the rise in gold and silver prices was supported by increased investor interest in safe-haven assets amid geopolitical risks. While US-Iran tensions and global economic uncertainty have increased demand for precious metals, profit-taking after the previous rise has put pressure on the price of platinum.
