Forest fires caused by record heat in Spain have already turned more than 20,000 hectares of land into ash and have advanced as far as the city of Madrid.

The capital’s administration has assessed the incident as the most serious forest fire recorded in the history of Madrid.
According to local media, employees of the NASA complex located in Madrid have also been evacuated for safety reasons.
