Bodies of 41 people who drowned in a shipwreck in Guyana have been found

Rescuers have discovered the bodies of 41 people who drowned during a ferry accident off the coast of Guyana.

It is noted that 77 people have been rescued. 16 vessels, as well as divers, have been involved in the search and rescue operation in the accident area.

Recall that on July 19, the ferry “MV BARIMA” capsized off the coast of Guyana while heading to the Barima-Waini region. According to the latest information, there were 179 people on board the ship. The search for the remaining individuals continues.

Authorities have suggested that the accident may have been caused by the ship being overloaded and errors made by the crew in navigation.
