Two French diplomats were subjected to an “extremely serious act of intimidation” by Iranian security forces.
“Elchi” reports, citing “The Times of Israel” newspaper, that French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot stated this.
According to the minister, the day before, the French diplomats were groundlessly detained and interrogated for several hours: “Iranian law enforcement officers treated them roughly, and one of the diplomats was even subjected to physical violence. After the interrogation, they returned to the French embassy.”
Barrot called the incident a “gross violation of diplomatic immunity.”
