As a result of the relevant consular measures and coordination work carried out by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ukraine, the body of Samad Nasrullayev, captain of the “Atlas Bey” ship, was sent to our country on July 17.

It should be recalled that on July 14, around 15:15 local time, the civilian merchant ship Atlas Bey, owned by the Turkish company Okean Maritime, was subjected to a drone attack near the coast of Odessa, Ukraine. 11 of the crew members on board were citizens of Azerbaijan. Measures were being taken to search for the ship’s captain. On July 15, 10 Azerbaijani citizens from the ship’s crew were sent back to their homeland via Turkey after crossing into Moldova.
