In January-June of this year, electricity production from renewable energy sources, including hydroelectric power plants, in Azerbaijan increased by 463.1 million kWh, amounting to 2,793.7 million kWh.
This was reported by “Elchi” with reference to the operational data of the Ministry of Energy.
“During the 6 months, compared to the corresponding period of 2025, electricity production increased by 31.2 million kWh at hydroelectric power plants and by 454.7 million kWh at wind power plants. In total, electricity production from renewable energy sources, including HPPs, increased by 463.1 million kWh, amounting to 2,793.7 million kWh,” the report notes.
According to the data, electricity production in Azerbaijan during the reporting period was 13,388.6 million kWh.
During this period, 10,594.9 million kWh was produced at thermal power plants, 1,891.7 million kWh at HPPs, and 902 million kWh from other sources, including 475.7 million kWh at wind power plants, 282.7 million kWh at solar power plants, and 143.6 million kWh at the Solid Waste Incineration Plant.
Electricity production for January-June amounted to 11,479.5 million kWh for “Azerenergy” OJSC (9,568.9 million kWh at TPPs, 1,883.2 million kWh at HPPs, 27.4 million kWh at SPPs), 14 million kWh at wind power plants for “Azerishig” OJSC, and 1,895.1 million kWh for independent power plants.
During the reporting period, electricity exports amounted to 241.2 million kWh, and imports amounted to 113.1 million kWh.
