The amendment to the law “On the cultural capital of Azerbaijan – the city of Shusha” is being harmonized with the normative legal acts of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“Elchi” reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decision in this regard.
According to the document, the Ministry of Justice, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, the Administration of the State Reserve of Shusha City, and other relevant state bodies (state legal entities) to be determined during the implementation process, must submit its proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers within five months regarding the harmonization of the Cabinet of Ministers’ normative legal acts with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 421-VIIQD dated June 12, 2026, “On amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘On the cultural capital of Azerbaijan – the city of Shusha'” and the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 716 dated July 8, 2026, “On the application of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 421-VIIQD dated June 12, 2026, ‘On amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the cultural capital of Azerbaijan – the city of Shusha”‘ and amendments to some decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with this.”
Central executive authorities must, no later than four months, take measures arising from their rule-making duties within their competence to ensure the implementation of the law and the decree, submit their normative legal acts or information about the absence of proposals to the Ministry of Justice, and inform the Cabinet of Ministers when the implementation status requires it.
