“Conflicts are fought not only on the battlefield, but also in the information space.”
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, during his speech at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.
Hikmet Hajiyev noted that considering Azerbaijan’s growing role in the region, especially in the media sphere, it is difficult to imagine a more suitable place than the Shusha Forum to discuss the future of global media.
He stated that against the backdrop of negotiations held with Armenia last year and the agreements reached, it is observed that biased and problematic materials still prevail in some international media outlets.
The President’s Assistant emphasized that the Karabakh conflict has been at the center of attention of international media for many years.
“Some international media organizations tried to present us as the guilty party in this conflict. This was regrettable. When talking about the Karabakh conflict, we must note that our goal was only to restore our sovereignty, and we achieved it. Despite this, biased approaches against Azerbaijan continued in the international media,” added Hikmet Hajiyev.
