Azerbaijan-Russia relations have fully normalized.
elchi reports that President Ilham Aliyev stated this while answering a question regarding relations with Russia at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.
“I would like to reiterate that we value our relations with Russia highly. We have also seen the statements by officials of the Russian Federation, including President Putin, regarding the positive dynamic development of relations between our countries. You mentioned certain difficulties. Yes, we are aware of all of them. But the main thing is that this stage is already behind us. I would say that the relations have fully normalized. Contacts at various levels are ongoing. There are active ties at the government level, between the co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission, as well as through the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Presidential administrations. In this regard, I believe that everything is developing normally, and we are satisfied with this. Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are of great importance both for bilateral cooperation and for a wider geography. These relations cover both traditional areas of cooperation and new directions that may emerge in the future. Transport issues are of particular importance here. Trade and humanitarian cooperation are also important directions,” the head of state noted.
