Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev met with the Syrian Arab Republic’s Minister of Information Khalid Fawaz Zaarur and the Minister’s Deputy for Digital Media Affairs Mohammad Tafran on July 13 within the framework of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.
elchi reports that the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Syria in all fields was noted with satisfaction during the meeting. It was especially emphasized that the meetings between the leaders of the two countries and the visit of the Syrian President to Azerbaijan played an important role in the development of relations between our countries. Issues of cooperation in the field of information and media were also discussed.
Hikmet Hajiyev expressed his gratitude to the Syrian Minister of Information for participating in the Shusha Global Media Forum. He said that next year, Azerbaijan will assume the chairmanship of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and will host the organization’s Summit. The Assistant to the President also stated that a meeting of the information ministers of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held in Azerbaijan in this context, and invited the Syrian minister to participate in that event.
During the conversation, issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria in the cultural, humanitarian, and educational fields were also touched upon, and the project supported by Azerbaijan for the repair and restoration of schools in Syria within the framework of ISESCO was highly appreciated. It was stated that this is an example of friendship between our countries.
At the meeting, Azerbaijan’s constant support for Syria’s political unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty was highly appreciated.
