Religious leaders’ call to the world from Samarkand

The 3rd day of the International Forum on Islamic Civilization held in Uzbekistan continues at the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex, located 25 km from the city of Samarkand. Before the official part of the forum, the guests visited the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex. The guests were provided with detailed information about the complex.

Later, the Sheikh-ul-Islam of the Caucasus Allahshukur Pashazade, who represents Azerbaijan at the Forum, and other religious figures performed prayers in the mosque located in the Memorial Complex. During the official part of the forum, Muzaffar Kamilov, Head of the Department for Education and Religious Affairs of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Sheikh Salih bin Abdullah bin Humaid, Chief Imam of the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Salim Al-Malik, Director General of ICESCO, Ahmed Toufiq, Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco, Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, and other officials delivered speeches. Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade noted that he felt honored to convey the greetings and most sincere wishes of the President of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, to the leader of the Uzbek people, His Excellency President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and to the entire Uzbek people. Allahshukur Pashazade stated that the mausoleum that existed on the site of the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex was destroyed during the era of atheism and that he personally participated in its restoration.

He also highlighted Uzbekistan’s contributions to Islamic heritage and noted that the legacy of Islamic thinkers is being promoted from the UN tribune. Allahshukur Pashazade brought to the attention of the Forum participants that a meeting of Muslim religious leaders within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Baku this September, and that an international conference on the legacy of the great Islamic thinker Seyid Yahya Bakuvi is also planned within the framework of this meeting.

It should be noted that the 1st International Forum on Islamic Civilization, which started in Tashkent on July 7, will continue until July 11. After Samarkand, the Forum participants will head to the city of Termez (Bukhara).
