Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Jean Todt, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, who is on a visit to our country.
“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has released information regarding this.
It was stated that during the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the current cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the UN, issues of international cooperation in the field of road safety, as well as global initiatives in this direction.
Jeyhun Bayramov provided information on the consistent reforms implemented by our country in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, the development of a safe, sustainable, and modern transport system, as well as ensuring road traffic safety. In this context, the work carried out in the modernization of transport infrastructure, the application of digital solutions, and the strengthening of road traffic safety were highlighted. The Minister also noted that high-level road and infrastructure projects are being implemented throughout the country, especially in our territories liberated from occupation.
Jean Todt provided information about the activities carried out in his capacity as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy, the prevention of road traffic accidents, and the measures taken to strengthen international cooperation in this field. He highly appreciated the measures taken by Azerbaijan in the field of road safety and the progress achieved, emphasizing the importance of continuing cooperation in this direction.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
