The Azerbaijan Army is among the strongest armies in the region due to its logistical support, weapons arsenal, technologies, and professionalism.
“Elchi” reports that Minister of Defense, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, stated this at the graduation ceremony of the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev, operating under the National Defense University (NDU).
He stated that the army-building policy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev has entered a new stage of development under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev: “The Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s words, ‘Our army is our pride,’ are an undeniable reality that has been proven. This is an indicator of our country’s military power and a clear example of the trust placed in the Azerbaijan Army. This year marks 6 years since the 44-day Patriotic War, in which the Azerbaijan Army achieved victory. This was not only a military advantage but also a triumph of our national unity, the political will of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, and the professionalism of our army.”
Zakir Hasanov noted that every cadet graduating today must be a leader in their field, regardless of their place of service: “You will be the chiefs and commanders of the future. Graduates of the Military Medicine Faculty are not only professional military doctors but also dedicated officers who protect the lives of every soldier. I would also like to note the role of the Turkish Armed Forces in the high-level training of officers. I express my gratitude to them for this. Today, among the graduates, there are also cadets from our partner and friendly countries, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. By applying the knowledge and skills they acquired here in their own countries, they will further strengthen the friendship between our states.”
the Minister added that the graduating cadets must pass on Azerbaijan, which has gained the status of a victorious country, as a sacred legacy to future generations: “You must comply with the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the requirements of the military regulations, and serve our people and state with dignity.”
