As a clear confirmation of the high appreciation by the UN for the successful social reforms carried out in our country in recent years, the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population has been awarded the UN Public Service Award for its “Inclusive and equitable social security services for all” initiative in the category of “Delivering inclusive and equitable services to leave no one behind.”
“Elchi” reports that out of 700 initiatives submitted to the UN from 63 countries, the SSPF and 7 relevant government agencies from other countries were honored with this award.
The award was presented to Zeka Mirzayev, Chairman of the Board of the SSPF, at the award ceremony held within the framework of the UN Public Service Forum, which took place in Tbilisi, Georgia, on June 23-25, with the participation of 420 delegates from nearly 100 countries.
The Fund was awarded the UN Public Service Award for the innovative reforms it has implemented in the field of social security in recent years, particularly for the proactive determination of social payments, a citizen-oriented service model based on digital technologies, and the significant achievements made in increasing the accessibility, efficiency, transparency, and inclusivity of social services.
According to the official statement of the UN, its Public Service Award (“UN PSA”) is a recognition of excellence in the field of public service. This award honors the creative achievements and operational results of public institutions that contribute to the formation of more efficient and agile public administration in various countries around the world.
It should be noted that during the panel session of the Forum held on the topic of “Integrated service delivery systems to leave no one behind,” detailed information was provided about the successes of the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in the field of social insurance and social security in recent years, as well as the innovative novelties applied in this area.
