The Paris Police Prefecture is reimposing a curfew in two districts of the French capital in connection with mass protests planned for the weekend.
elchi reports that the “BFMTV” television channel disseminated this information, citing an order from the authorities.
The restrictions will be in effect from Saturday to Sunday night and from Sunday to Monday night, local time from 23:00 to 06:00, in the Republic Square area and the Chatelet-Les Halles quarter.
As noted in the Prefecture’s order, the demonstration against the decline in purchasing power on Saturday requires additional security measures. “Police measures aimed at maintaining order, including a curfew, remain particularly necessary in the current circumstances,” the document states.
