The connection of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan and the recognition of this project as the Zangezur corridor, and internationally as TRIP (Transport Route for International Peace and Prosperity), is important not only for Azerbaijan’s exports but also for increasing the efficiency of the Middle Corridor and strengthening connectivity between Central Asian countries, China, Turkey, and Europe.
elchi reports that this was stated by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov during a dialogue organized within the framework of the Islamic Development Bank’s Annual Meetings held in Baku.
According to him, for this reason, one of the two industrial zones created in the liberated territories is focused specifically on the transport and logistics sector:
“Agriculture and tourism are also being developed as traditional sectors. Along with this, industrialization is also an important direction. For example, although the Aghdam Industrial Park is still young, it is already in second place in the country in terms of the number of residents. As a result, the continuation of state investments and, at the same time, the increasing interest of the private sector, including foreign investors, is the main combination that we want to continue together.”
