IAEA adopts resolution calling on Iran to disclose information regarding uranium

The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), with the support of the US, has adopted a resolution calling on Iran to disclose information about its remaining stockpiles of enriched uranium and to provide inspectors with access to verify them.

elchi “Reuters” reports that the document was adopted a few hours after the mutual strikes between the US and Iran.

The resolution was prepared by the US, Great Britain, France, and Germany. 21 countries voted in favor of it, Russia, China, and Niger voted against it, and 10 other states abstained. Venezuela did not participate in the voting.

The IAEA stated that the fate of a portion of the enriched uranium stockpiles remains uncertain following the strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities last year. The adopted resolution calls on Tehran to provide relevant information and ensure cooperation with the agency.

Iran, in turn, criticized the document, calling it an attempt to justify military aggression against the country.
