Water police have detected cases of illegal interference with riverbeds in Gabala and Lankaran

The water police, together with relevant authorities, have carried out measures against cases of illegal interference with the protection zones of rivers.

This was reported to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It was stated that officers of the Police Department on Water Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the State Service for Control over the Use and Protection of Water under the State Water Resources Agency, have implemented measures to prevent illegal interference with river protection zones and riverbeds.

During recent operations conducted in the Gabala and Lankaran districts, violations of legislative requirements were discovered in the river protection zones located in the mentioned areas.

It was determined that in some areas, excavation work was carried out without appropriate permits, structures for various purposes were built in water protection zones, and activities that negatively affect the natural flow of rivers and the environment were carried out.

Necessary legal liability measures are being taken in accordance with the legislation regarding the materials collected in connection with the discovered facts.
