The Pentagon has imposed restrictions on a number of major Chinese companies

The US Department of Defense has added a number of major Chinese companies to a “blacklist” due to their cooperation with the People’s Liberation Army of China.

elchi reports that the document has been published in the US Federal Register.

According to the document, the online trading platform “Alibaba”, the search engine “Baidu”, the electric vehicle and battery manufacturer BYD, and the NIO corporation have been included in the list.

These companies were blacklisted due to their cooperation with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In total, about 15 companies have been added to the list this year.

It should be noted that this decision does not imply the immediate imposition of sanctions, but companies included in the list are prohibited from acting as contractors for the US military department. This also indicates that trade or other restrictions may be imposed on them later.
