“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania has released information regarding this.

It was stated that the political consultations in Vilnius took place with the participation of the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the two countries, Audra Plepytė and Fariz Rzayev.

According to the information, prospects for strengthening bilateral relations, including the development of political, economic, cultural, and educational ties, as well as interaction between the European Union and Azerbaijan and cooperation within international organizations were discussed.

Special attention was paid to the geopolitical situation in Europe and the South Caucasus, as well as Azerbaijan’s role in regional processes.

Welcoming the progress in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Lithuanian side expressed hope for the early signing of a peace treaty that would contribute to long-term stability in the region.

A. Plepytė also noted Azerbaijan’s assistance to Ukraine in the energy sector, emphasizing that consistent and long-term support for Kyiv is necessary both for the protection of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for ensuring the security and stability of Europe.
